How do we measure the maturity level of a person?
Is it by his/her age, thinking,
act or dress up? In this day and age, kid want to be an adult and an adult acts like
a kid. I really surprise sometimes when I see some kids in
the shopping mall with the dress, high heels and make up while I’m still wearing jeans, shirt and sneakers even
though I’m pretty sure I’m 8 to 12 years older than them. It made me think that
either I’m too scare to be old or is it
them that are too excited to look matured. Either way, I hope that they will not
ruin their face in another 30 years. In a different story, there is a
girl that used to be my student and I do follow her on Twitter. I don’t know why
but she always tweets about motivation and giving an advise like she already experience everything in life while she just got her spm results.
I didn’t say that’s wrong. I still remember when I was her age. The only thing that was
in my head is class 8am till 6pm. Shit. I didn’t even know what love is. I
don’t blame myself for taking too long to be matured.
Well, at least I had enjoy being young, immature, my stupidity,
and every mistakes that I had made. Even sometimes I kinda regret for what I had done in
my past, but learning from our life experience is still the best compared to learn it through a book or someone else’s
view. If being matured is a choice, then I can’t help but wonder
why on the hell those kids want to be matured earlier than their age? Why they don’t
want to enjoy their teenage years while they still can? What a waste! In my
side of view, it should be a threshold in life where up to some level, someone should be matured simultaneously with his/her age. Not too early or not
too late. But then, we can’t control it, or can we?
