How many times that I’ve been fooled on 1st of April?
Never. How many times that I’ve been fooled in my life? Incalculable. Frankly
speaking, I’m pretty much easier to be fooled by others. Friends, strangers,
guys. Guys. Hah. I’m still not sure if I’m too naïve or too stupid. Like
seriously. I still remembered last year that I almost being fooled by a guy
that I met online which turned out he’s one of the scam. If you ever read in a
paper, news like “Grandma lost RM10k for the internet love”. Sounds familiar,
right? Not surprisingly, most of the victims in this case are women. We, women
can really fall by men’s words sometimes no matter how strong or how
intelligent we are. Especially when we are alone and suddenly someone shows to us
how much he cares even its all not true. Yeah, I didn’t see that coming even it
was quite obvious. Anyway, I was still somehow lucky because the only things that
I had lost were my dignity and 4 months wasted time that I had spend for him. This
incident had made me become more cautious every time I want to know someone
online or real life. Also, not to trust people easily especially someone that I
just know. For the women out there, if you accidentally read this entry, please
be careful if you want to find your Mr. Right on the internet. Do not, I
repeat, do not give your money, credit card info, or any details of yourself
easily. We can’t tell if someone really mean what he/she said or that person
only want to make a fool of you.

Educational system or societies’ perception?
8 years ago, I was in the same situation as most of the SPM
leavers today. Since my high school was 2 hours away from my hometown, I was on
pin and needles along the way to get there. I didn’t know why I felt that way.
I was already in for a place and during that time, I was doing my foundation
earlier 5 months than any other normal kids. I should be grateful for that but
on my second thought, should I? I was so confused that time. I didn’t know what
I want to do in the future or what course should I take for my first degree. The
worse part was none of my family members can give me an advise on that topic
and my friends were as confused as me. There were some seniors and counselor
tried to help, but I guess they can’t clear my path either. I used to dream
about study abroad and took medicine course, but since I didn’t get straight A’s
and with my result that time, the only choices I had was either to finish my
foundation and take any course which suit me the most or go for matriculation and
start struggling all over again to get 4 flat, and then go to medical school. One
thing that I can admit is I’m the type of person that love to do anything
faster or take a shorter cut than long way. So, I guess you knew which path I
took. Well, that was a part of the story in my book.
It is true that you’ve to get straight A’s to get into
medical school. But that is if you want to. You, not your parents. Sadly, not
all students think they have any other option when they have straight A’s
result in their hand. The choices are tight between being a doctor or an
engineer. If they have any other dreams or plan for the future, maybe they
still have to choose between that either since their parents will say “You got
straight A’s but you want to take an art course? Are you insane?” Yeah, kinda
like that. That is how societies’ perception either. They look up really high
to you when you get more A’s and asking the same question “So, you’ll be a
doctor, huh?” And when your results have less A they will say you’re not trying
hard enough or you don’t have any future. I teach this one kid and her mother really
wants her to get all A’s printed on her result. Even she just takes UPSR, she
struggles like a university student. No kidding. People should aware that we
are not machines that produce A’s on a paper. We’re more than that. What a
waste if a student can score straight A’s on an examination but their thinking
is not like their result? They can’t make any own decision or have critical
thinking, they only memorize the text book and exam format. I didn’t say all of
them but maybe some. If someone not excel in her/his examination, maybe she/he can
be successful too by being a good writer or international chef (for example).
The only thing that can measure people success is how they can turn their
failure into a motivation to change her/his life.
I know I write too long for this entry, but I have the last
part which to blame on our educational system. Another example on my another
student; he is a form 4 student this year and he is no choice but to take some
subjects that he is not interested. I asked him once why and he said the school
give not too many options and either you like or not, you have to take the
combination subjects. Yup, NO CHOICES. So, some students in our free country
have to study some subjects they don’t like because of no choices. And then
when they did not success in that subject, people will say that they didn’t try
harder. Fair enough. As we know, pmr will be the last this year and it changes into
the band system from next year on. I just hope there is a room to change for spm
too. By change I mean is not terminated the examination but students should give
more options on subjects that they want to take. Like US educational system for
example. Declaration of Bahasa, English and history as subjects must pass is a
good thing, but again the marks of the paper when it comes to big examination is
based on the graph. I’m still not sure if it is a good thing or not. It maybe
helps some students that are weak in the certain subjects but the question is,
The number of students that got straight A’s every year is just a number or it
is based on what they are?

just because I have XX chromosomes
It is not easy to be a human called woman. I don’t say it is
easy to be a man either. But if you were born with XY chromosomes, at least you
don’t have to be worried a chance you might bury alive or called bearer of bad
luck in some culture, experience the nightmare of period pain every month and
endless pain of giving birth. Yes, men have lots of responsibilities. However in
this modern age, some of their responsibilities are shared with us, women.
Women nowadays are more independent, smart and have their own career. We are so
much luckier compared to women in the 1960s. Back to my mom’s year when she was
a teenager and got an offer to further her study, my grandma didn’t give
permission to her since most of the people think a women’s place should be in the
kithchen. Well, most of us today are in front of a computer at the office
instead in the kitchen.
Even so, there are still some issues for
example in our culture, when it comes to rape or sexual harassment, some people still
condemning women’s clothing as the reason this thing happened. Meanwhile in the
western culture, it is okay if men sleep with many women but when women do the
same, they will labeled as a slut. I’m trying not to sound so sexist while
writing this entry and of course I’m not demanding for gender equality here. Just
for men out there, it is very much appreciated if you can give us, women some
respect. That’s all we need instead of love and a little bit attention. For women, please try to stand up for yourself (seriously, I hate to see women that are too
dependent/needy) and love yourself since we’re all beautiful. Hey! We have our international
day which men don’t have. Yup! We’re special after all. J

3 out of 12
And it’s 1st of March today!!! I wish it is still
February. Damn! I still didn’t enjoy my January. Why are times has to be so
fast? There are not much time left for me if I want to grad on time (Why am I
still writing this blog again?). Ok. Now, time to sit down and think what
you’ve done for the last two months this 2013? In my case, I haven’t done
anything much (instead of wasting time on Twitter). Oh, how I wish today is 1st
of February…. *sigh*

Love and the other things.
Its 14th today and still have one hour left before the clock struck 12 and a new day begins. As we all aware, today is the day where everyone share, spread and celebrate love. As it is needed to remember all people that we love for one day only and forget them for the rest of 364 days. I try to ignore what people celebrating today and live my life like it is another normal day. Except I'm meeting my two friends and we share our stories. All I can see today is people sell flowers everywhere which kinda like graduation day. This is a day for florist to increase their business income since flowers especially roses are freaking expensive. And our country is top 3 in the most expensive flowers selling chart. I can't help but wonder why in the world people want to waste their money to buy something that is really expensive in one specific day while they can buy it cheaper in other days? Is it really necessary to spend your money to show how much you love to someone? I read in the economics section today that the writer said money can buy anything except love. How true is that? Even to get married with someone we love requires a lot of money. Ok, maybe not a lot. But still we have to spend on the ring, reception, invitation card and others. So, is it still money does not matter?
We are not living in the 1960's where people can get married with just a simple wedding. Even if we do, how about the life after marriage? Car, houses and then you have kids. Women nowadays getting smart and independent. Do you think a girl wanted to have a life with you if you're broke and just depends on how much stronger your love to each other? If only love can trade with lunch meal, and that will be yes. But the truth is always painful. And that my friends what life is. After all, we all live in a cruel world. Maybe we have love, but still the questions left...Is it love all we needed? And have love is just enough? Before I left with all these questions in your head, let me remind you of the song from The Darkness, 'Love is only a feeling'.
