We live in a judgmental world. What we did, what we said,
what we wear… All of these going to be judged by the people around us. Some
people said that only stupid judge others. But still we can’t escape from doing
the same thing. In this cold world, idioms don’t
judge a book by its cover can’t be used anymore. Because the cover does
matter. If you don’t have a look like Carly Rae or Taylor Swift, you can’t be a
famous artist even you have a great voice or super talented. Same thing goes if
you have higher qualification on paper. For me, being smart does not necessarily you
have to act like one. But society looks at the smart people by their own
definition which means you have to dress up nicely, speak intellectual language,
your writing must have zero grammatical error or in the simple words, you have
to be perfect in everything. Yes, no one in this world is perfect, but still they’re
expecting you to be at least better than any other average human which for me
is quite unrealistic since smart people are human too.
Something that I got a lot is when people meet me outside
the real world and they’re asking me about what I do or which level I’m
studying now. Then, when they get the answer, I can see their surprising look
because I’m not sure either I look too younger than my age or I just wearing
shirt, jeans and slipper and looks like someone that grad high school with bad
grades. This thing doesn't only happen to me. Do you still remember a girl
named Amalina that used to be a phenomenal in our country because of her
intelligence? Yup. She’s being judged by the way she dresses up too and lots of
people bash her because she’s too sexy and kinda forget where she comes from. LOL.
So, to wrap all these, I’m going to say that people will not stop judging you
as long as you still breathe and this world keeps spinning. It is better to be
yourself and ignore what people said behind your back or in front of your face.
Like what I did now. Last but not least, never let people’s words bring you
down. Just live your life because your life does not depend on the other’s hand.
As long as you happy with what you have and what you do.
